Sympathy card

This week's challenge over at Designed 2 Delight uses shamrock blooms. I have shamrocks all over my house and outside so they are one of my favorites. The sentiment is perfect for a sympathy card. I made the background using the Fossil Stone technique, the punch is from Martha Stewart and everything else is Stampin Up.

Glowing Oil Pastels

This is for Try that technique Thursday challenge over at TJ. I almost always start with an image and then build the card around it. The oil pastels on the butterfly blend easily and give a nice "glow" to the image. Thank goodness for techniques that allow us t0 instantly have a colored background that exactly matches the image. In this case I used Fossil Stone, which for now is my new favorite technique.

Happy Couple

I talked to a friend I have known since high school today and she told me she is in love. That just proves we can fall in love at any age! She is so laid back and funny it did my heart good to hear the joy in her voice. I really like the old photos of people and found this one at Clearly Vintage. Apparently the photographers told people not to smile or else the session lasted so long they were not smiling by the time the photo was taken! Anyway, I made this into a card for her-I believe she will see the humor in this one.

Halloween kitties

I have made two Halloween kitty cards today. The first is this week's image from Designed 2 Delight. It is such a cute image and very easy to make into a card. I used Spellbinders dies and background paper from TLC Creations.

The second is a new image from Squigglefly.com. I love this type image because it is already shaded and is quite easy to color. The background paper is also from TLC Creations.

Sew Beary Kind

I have had a really busy week at work so it was nice to come home this evening and unwind and make a card for the weekly challenge over at Delightful Inspirations. I used two of the In colors from Stampin Up and some faux dew drops. The embossing folder is one of Tim Holtz.

Cuttlebug Smoosh lady

This is for the Design Junkies challenge this week using the cuttlebug smoosh technique. This is a free digi image, but I don't remember where I got it. I try to be careful to give credit, but this one didn't have a name on it. I used the SU embossing folder and two of the new SU In colors-Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzaz. The ribbon is SU and the brad is from Hobby Lobby!

My mom was right

Yesterday at work I told a coworker that I had forgotten a word for a common object and , of course, she didn't let me forget all evening. Needless to say she is 30 years younger than I am. Her birthday was last week, but I didn't know that so I made her this card and on the inside it says, Now I remember.....Happy belated birthday!

I used SU designer paper, poppy parade and blushing bride cs, SU gingham ribbon,a Spellbinders pendant, my new Paper Studio corner punch and last but not least, a sentiment from TLC. Not a fancy card, but I like making a card around a sentiment only. A little different for me.
